Two Reasons Why We Use Dust Containment #1 - Let's face it...the hardwood flooring industry is changing. Materials and chemicals are getting more advanced. Sanding machines are more aggressive. Consumers have many more options available to them. Pre-finished and engineered flooring is closing the quality gap and becoming an attractive option in some cases. The mess associated with hardwood floor finishing has always been one of, if not the biggest objection from consumers. Ask anyone who's had their floors finished / refinished how it went and you're likely to hear that the floors look great but the rest of the house is a dusty mess. Even contractors who are very careful, use plastic to cordon off rooms being sanded, run fans to blow dust outside, brooms, dust-mops etc. inevitably leave behind a lot of dust during any floor finishing operation. Dust is more than just an annoyance to our customers. Dust hurts your finish quality. It adds hours of cleanup to your job. It tarnishes our reputation and limits word of mouth referrals from our customers. #2 - Often overlooked, it also poses a significant health hazard to you and our employees. Wood dust has recently been listed as a know carcinogen. When we sand your old floor we could be releasing lead dust into your home. For the safety of our technicians and your family we want to keep the dust to a minimum. Dust containment, "real dust containment", overcomes all of these problems. It removes the health hazard for you and our employees. It improves the quality of your work with less dust settling between finish coats. It saves time with less cleanup, vacuuming between coats etc. |
